We have just arrived home from a wonderful stay at The Verandah. The rooms are very spacious and our view of the beach was beautiful.

What a breath taking experience it was for us. Once we arrived on property it were as if we left Antigua. We were both taken back by the magnificent scenery and lush landscaping.

"We've never experienced this level of relaxation anywhere else. From the minute we arrived till today (8/14) we were happy to wake up here and look forward to another day in our paradise.

We chose to have our wedding here at The Verandah, taking our 15 month old baby and our close family with us. We found the staff that planned our wedding to be very friendly and helpful, making our wedding very personal to us with our choices of location, flower colours, times etc. Some of our extras (outside of our included packge) came at quite a high cost though! Our room was fantastic.

We are not really resort people, but found the week at The Verandah a perfect break.
The resort is well spread out and there is not a feeling of crowding from other guests. There is plenty of room in the pool (fabulous), the bars, restaurants and the beach area. There is no feeling of "forced fun", no combat-mariachhi bands leaping out to entertain, and no feeling that one should permantly "upgrade" or take a local tour...

We visited the resort in Feb and had a wonderful time. The resort was fairly busy for a week with both US and UK on half term. Even then, we were able to get a good spot on the main beach and the kids all seemed to be having a good time. I noticed that the other beach near reception was still fairly quiet even when the hotel was fairly full. In the following week, the resort was a lot quieter and both beaches were very peaceful...

OK - let's be honest. If you're here looking for a review of the hotel, you should have a good idea what to expect! don't be surprised that the food isn't 5 star or that there are lots of families.
This place is fantastic for people with kids. So if you're single or on your honeymoon, you may not like having kids run around. Go somewhere else...

Apprenhensive of the idea of doing all inclusive, we were delighted by our stay at the Verandah. Lots of space, excellent cuisine (thanks to Mr Peters, F&B manager), friendly and attentive staff, excellent rooms. Not a lot more to say.

We just returned from a week stay at the Verandah with our 19 month old. I have to say, the first few days, I really wasn't feeling this place. Oh sure, the accomodations were lovely and the staff was fantastic but there was a few niggly things that bothered us as a couple travelling with a baby. We didn't like the "no food brought to the room" rule. Our son has his naps during meal periods and at every resort we have stayed at, they have generously allowed us and even wrapped up for us, small plates of food that we could bring back to our room and feed to him at our leisure. One of the reasons we booked the Verandah was because we heard that there were kitchenettes in every room. We thought it would be a snap to reheat something for him or keep a little snack in the fridge but from the first day we were tersely told that food must be consumed in the restaurants only.

Loved it! The level of service at the Verandah is second to none. Nothing was too much bother. The friendliness of the staff and the eagerness to satisfy I don't think I have ever witnessed anything like it anywhere in the world. The Verandah had been open for under a year at the time, and although it showed as there were still some small villas being built, the guests were all away from the works' - didn't bother us in the slightest and could only be seen entering and leaving the hotel grounds. We were booked into a sea front villa, right on the beach and stunning views.

We have had several wonderful holidays at this Resort - the rooms are spacious and to very good standard with lovely views. There is good choice of public areas, e.g two beaches, two pools with one for adult only use, and all in beautiful exotic gardens. We have been with and without our family and have found a good range of facilites for kids and adults alike. As all inclusive (the food is extremely good and lots of it with choice of buffet or waitress service restaurants to suit all requirements ) we thought it very good value for money. Having had such a great time this year, we have decided to go again next Feb!

Great customer service from all departments. You must remember the Caribbean way of life is a slower pace than in England so factor this into response times etc. Nothing was too much trouble.
Accommodation was very good, spacious, well laid out, his and her wash basins, powerful shower etc. Good sea views from each 'chalet'. No hotel accommodatin blocks just modern semi detached chalets that had a kitchen and a living area leading onto your furnished verandah. Large wall mounted TV , radio alarm ,safe, ironing board etc.

After reading some negative reviews, we had a wonderful week's vacation at the Verandah in late January. Rich in options, the resort was well maintained and designed. The absence of cars made walking the grounds a pleasant experience. If the main pool was too busy, we went to the adult one. If we were bored with Reggae beach, we went to Lover's Beach. Our room had a lovely view and our neighbors were quiet. The room itself was modest, but tidy and well equppied.

We have our honeymoon there and it was fantastic. Location is very nice, just near to Devil's Bride (a must see).
We did not have the all inclusive option as we did not wanted to stay there all day for 2 weeks.
We have bought it for some days and the food was good but nothing special. Go out and explore!
Long beach is just few steps away, and almost everywhere you can get nice food for 15-20EC (drinks are also cheap).
